Carol Chan obtained more than 110 signatures from residents earlier recommending her to run for the seat of the sixth constituency. In order to attract more attention to the Chinese women's candidacy in this election, Carol's election office is listed today in Richmond Hill and held a press conference live online at the same time, announced the relevant details, and invited people from all walks of life to attend the scene to support.

At the meeting, Carol shared her background and political platform. The theme was One Vibrant City. She started from civic education and caring for the community, focusing on public security, the welfare of young people and the elderly, and building an inclusive community. Among them, she proposed to establish an effective communication channel for discussions with the three levels of government, to participate more in the urban planning of Richmond Hill, and to express her wishes for the residents of Richmond Hill, especially the Sixth District.

Guests in attendance included Cindy Liang, current York District Board of Education candidate, Tony Luk, candidate for the Toronto mayoral election, Wil Husnutdinov, candidate for the Fifth District of Richmond Hill, Robert Kolosowski and Sadra Nasseri, candidate for the York District Board of Education election, Richmond Hill. Ray Sethi, President of Wenshan Indian Elderly Association, and friends from different groups and communities. The current Richmond Hill District Sixth District Councillor Chen Zhihui also rushed to the scene to congratulate later.

It is well known that Carol spares no effort in promoting civic education. When she was the Education Commissioner of York Region, she was very enthusiastic in promoting multiculturalism and organized activities such as Asian Culture Month.

I met Carol many years ago. She is a very kind lady and loves community service. We have served the community together and supported each other over the years.

About Carol Chan

Carol Chan has lived in Richmond Hill's sixth district for over 30 years with her husband and three children. Now a professional special education child behavior therapist. Her mission life is dedicated to nurturing children, supporting their families and responding to community needs. Served as Education Committee Member of the York District Board of Education, Richmond Hill for 8 years (2010 – 2018). She is also the founding president of Parents Walk & Talk. During the epidemic, she held different types of online seminars every month without interruption to promote the concept of focusing on mental health.
